Welcome to Rostrevor

Rostrevor lies at the foot of Slieve Martin in the Mountains of Mourne and on the shore of Carlingford Lough.

From its beginning in 2015 Rostrevor Men’s Shed has quickly become one of Ireland’s more progressive and fastest growing Sheds.

Rostrevor Men’s Shed is a place where men of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels spend time tinkering and repairing, growing things and building things whilst socialising with other men who have similar interest.

Our Men’s Shed exists to provide local men with the tools and equipment within a safe environment where they can meet new friends, socialise and work on a variety of projects.

We build a lot of things at the Shed but the greatest thing we build is friendships.

What is a Men’s Shed

A Men’s Shed is a community-based, non-commercial organisation which is open to all men where the primary activity is the provision of a safe, friendly and inclusive environment where the men are able to gather and/or work on meaningful projects at their own pace, in their own time and in the company of other men.

The primary objective is to advance the health and well- being of the participating men.

Good health is based on many factors including feeling good about yourself, being productive and valuable to your community, connecting with friends and maintaining an active body and an active mind.

Becoming a member of a Community Men’s Shed gives a man that safe and busy environment where he can find many of these things in an atmosphere of friendship. And, importantly, there is no pressure.

Wherever men get together you can guarantee that they will need a cup of tea. The Shed is no exception and to make sure that we could get a brew on and put the world to rights we even have our own kitchen with facilities for members to make tea or coffee, with a fridge, microwave and storage for everyone's mug. There is even a sink to wash up your mug if you are so inclined.

Mostly though the tea room is where we can chat, catch up, discuss topics, commiserate, share joys and have a bit of craic.

There is also an outside gravelled area with a picnic table, bench and various chairs for when the weather is good.

Some members just come to sit chat and have a brew on the odd occasion, which is excellent.
